FORMER Civic Head, Coun Janice Boswell, has donated almost £9,000 to local causes, thanks to the Bromsgrove public.
During her year in Office, 2012 to 2013, Coun Boswell raised £8,834.63 for the Primrose Hospice, the Stroke Association and the Edward's Trust.
The cash was collected after Coun Boswell hosted a variety of civic events.
She said: "The charities' amazing work speaks for itself and I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to all the fund-raisers who worked so hard."
The Primrose Hospice will use its share to open extra rooms while the Stroke Association will use its money towards services at Bromsgrove's specialist Life After Stoke Centre.
The Edward's Trust plans to use its portion on bereavement counslling for parents whose children have died and children whose parents have died in traumatic circumstances.
