CASH was stolen from the ticket machine at Northfield Railway Station, which was broken into on Wednesday (October 16).
The incident was reported to British Transport Police (BTP) at 5.22am on that day.
A BTP spokesperson said, because the machine had been emptied the night before, only a small amount of cash was taken.
He added officers had carried out a forensic examination of the machine and the scene, were viewing CCTV footage and were speaking to witnesses.
He urged anyone who witnessed the incident or had any information to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 6106.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
