RESIDENTS are being urged to get creative and come up with ideas for some beautiful Bromsgrove bangers as part of a contest being held for British Sausage Week, which runs from October 31 to November 6.
Pete Hughes, landlord of the Royal Oak in Catshill, and butcher Andrew Partridge want Bromsgrovians to send in their sizzling sausage suggestions and the best one chosen will be made by the town's Ted Smith who, at 85, is thought to be Britain's oldest sausage maker.
The recipes can be submitted to the Royal Oak on Barley Mow Lane or Partridges Butchers on Stourbridge Road before the October 21 deadline.
The winning wiener will be on the menu at the pub during sausage week and available from Partridges.
The creator of the recipe will also scoop either 5lb of their winning sausage or dinner for four, including their creation, at the Royal Oak.
