TWO REDNAL men have been jailed for 12 weeks after carrying out burglaries in North Worcestershire.
Christopher Lawlor, 29, of Cock Hill Lane, and Simon Brand, also known as Simon Thomson, also 29, of Rubery Farm Grove, appeared before Worcester magistrates on Wednesday (October 10).
They were caged for the burglary of an outbuilding in Beverley Road, Rednal, on October 4, in which power tools were stolen, and for a burglary in Cofton Church Lane, Cofton Hackett on August 5, in which a TV set and DVD player were taken.
They were handed 12 weeks for each offence to run concurrently, meaning they will serve 12 weeks in total.
Det Con Colin Milward of West Mercia Police welcomed the sentences and said: “Burglary offences cause a great deal of distress to victims and are taken very seriously by the police and courts.
“In this case, both men were on police bail for the Cofton Hackett offence when they committed the Rednal offence.
"They were arrested again on Tuesday and found themselves in jail on Wednesday, and we hope this speedy action by the police and court will act as a deterrent and reassurance.”
