PARENTS in south Birmingham have been urged to reiterate the 'stranger danger’ message after reports of a nine-year-old girl being beckoned to get into a car on Monday evening (October 7).
The man was driving a green 4x4 at around 6.40pm near Bromford Dell, off Bunbury Road, in Northfeild.
The girl was not approached or spoken to by anyone, but she believed she was being beckoned to the parked vehicle, where a small group of people were gathered.
She left unharmed and police enquiries have found this to be an isolated report and there has been no other allegations made.
Local schools, St Laurence and St Brigid's, have put out warnings and asked parents to remind their children of the dangers of speaking to strangers.
A police spokewoman said officers were making further enquiries as they tried to piece together what happened.
"At we moment we are unsure of what went on, but we would always advise people to report any suspicious activity, however minor it may seem.”
If any residents have information call 101.
