NEW COLLEGE students, lawyers and magistrates will take part in a live mock trial as part of an open day at Redditch Magistrates’ Court.
The trial will cover an incident of actual bodily harm, covering why the assault happened, what the sentence should aim to achieve and how the victim could be compensated.
Other activities during the day, which runs from 10am to 3.30pm on Saturday (October 5), will include presentations on protecting young people online, understanding substance use and a tour of the cells and prison transport.
Organisations including the Probation Service, West Mercia Safer Roads Partnership and homeless charity St Basil’s will also be on hand to give out information.
