A REDNAL rider will cycle from London to Paris on Wednesday (September 18) to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation UK.
Paul Balfe anticipates his ‘challenge of a lifetime’ will last three-and-a-half days.
He said he chose the Make A Wish Foundation UK because although he was lucky enough to be able to ride his bike and enjoy the beautiful countryside, he realised there were a lot of unfortunate people who could not realise their dreams or aspirations.
On day one he will cycle from Bexley to Dover, via the South Downs, to catch the ferry.
Day two takes him from Calais to Arras and on day three he will journey from Arras to Compeigne, passing through the Somme and visiting the World War I cemetery battlefields.
He will cycle to the Champs Elysees in Paris on day four, passing through the forest where the 1918 Armistice was signed.
All cash raised will go to the charity.
