A WARNING about the dangers of trespassing on railway lines been issued after people were seen on a Bromsgrove stretch of track as a train was approaching.
This picture, taken at 2.20pm on Thursday (August 22) near Shaw Lane in Stoke Prior, was posted on our Facebook page over the weekend by Rich Wilson.
He wrote: "They came within seconds of being hit by the passenger train."
British Transport Police (BTP), which have confirmed they are investigating the incident, issued the warning.
A BTP spokesperson said: "We see these incidents from time to time - thankfully not very often.
"People need to be aware of the dangers and parents need to speak to their children about them.
"The last thing we want is to be knocking on someone's door letting them know their loved one has been hit by a train."
On the incident at Stoke Prior, he added: "We would urge anyone with any information about it or anyone who recognises the people in the picture to come forward.
"Also, if anyone does see people trespassing on the railways, they should report it to us as soon as possible so we can investigate."
Anyone with any information about the incident should call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016.
