A BROMSGROVE girl is the first in the UK to become a member of the women’s youth section of the Royal British Legion.
Zoe Lyes is just 12 and has the number 001 on her membership card for the newly-formed group.
And the family has a proud tradition of being RBL members.
Her mum Theresa is a standard bearer for the Bromsgrove branch’s women’s section, her nan June Wildman is the county chairman for the RBL for the whole of Worcestershire and her brother Joshua, 17, is in the male youth section and deputy standard bearer for the Bromsgrove branch.
June told The Standard: “We are so happy and proud of her.
“If ever there is anything going on, Zoe or Joshua are always there helping out, whether it be selling poppies - which they have done since they were five - or making tea and coffee for events.”
Anyone wanting more information on the women’s youth section or the RBL in general can call June on 01527 832146.
