A BROMSGROVE man was among six drink drivers arrested in two days as part of a police clampdown on 'selfish' and 'dangerous' motorists.
The 25-year-old from Catshill was stopped in City Walls Road, Worcester at 10.55pm on Saturday (August 17) following a single vehicle crash.
A Spa man, 25 was arrested earlier the same evening near St Andrews Square in Droitwich town centre at 9.45pm.
Two others, 35 and 28, from Evesham and Malvern were also stopped on Saturday, while another Evesham pair, 33 and 36, were arrested separately on Sunday (August 18).
All six have been charged and are due to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court by early September.
A 22-year-old from Malvern was also charged with being drunk in charge of a pedal cycle after been picked up in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Following the spate of incidents police have warned motorists tempted to drink and drive they will not hesitate to charge anyone who supplies a positive breath test.
Ch Insp Mark Steele from Worcester Police, said: "Many of these arrests happened following collisions and people need to understand the risks they are taking by getting behind the wheel of a car – or even getting on their bicycle – after consuming alcohol.
"You are putting yourself and other road users in danger and we will not tolerate such irresponsible and selfish behaviour.
"We are routinely stopping and catching drink-drivers and we hope that the action we have taken against a number of drivers over the weekend serves as a strong deterrent to anyone thinking of drinking and driving in our force area."
