TWO men have been arrested for a handful of crimes including attempting to rob Charlie's Kebab House in the town centre.

Police were called to the Worcester Road takeaway at 11.30pm after a man had walked in demanding cash but fled empty-handed.

Shortly after Jamie Gillard, 32 and from Swan Street, Dudley, and Paul Summers, 40 and from Westley Court, Cradley Heath were arrested on the M5 because the vehicle they were driving in had been reported stolen.

Gillard was also accused of drink-driving and driving without insurance.

The pair will appear at Worcester Crown Court on July 15 and remanded in custody.
