Woman jumps from first floor window to escape Northfield house fire

A WOMAN suffered severe back pain and breathing difficulties from smoke inhalation after jumping from a first floor window to escape a house fire in Northfield this afternoon (Friday).

The incident, involving the 25-year-old, happened at around 3.30pm in Bangham Pit Road.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed a crew and a responder paramedic were sent to the scene after the woman jumped from the window onto concrete.

A spokeswoman added West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews administered pain relief and oxygen therapy before she was immobilised fully with a neck collar and spinal board.

“Once stabilised, the woman was taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
