SEVERAL sheds have been set on fire and broken into on the same road, causing property damage and the death of two pet birds.
In total six were hit at the back Frankley Beeches Road in Northfield on Tuesday (March 19) between 2.40am and 6am.
Two sheds were set on fire causing more than a £1,000 worth of damage to the structures and contents.
Three others were broken into, including one containing a car which also suffered damage.
Thieves also broke into an aviary causing the disappearance of several finches which either escaped or were stolen.
Two birds were later found dead in one of the burnt sheds. It is believed they flew in there before it was set on fire and after their aviary was broken into.
Insp Stephen Barley, from Birmingham South Police, said officers were treating all the incidents as linked and were carrying out house to house enquiries as well as providing advice on securing sheds.
