TWO LORRIES crashed on the M42 near Bromsgrove last night (Monday), with one of them spilling its cargo of vegetable oil onto the carriageway.
The collision happened at around 8.10pm between Junction 1 (Bromsgrove) and Junction 2 (Hopwood).
Two fire crews from Bromsgrove and one from Droitwich went to the scene, where two injured people were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
Firefighters used stabilising equipent to secure the smaller of the two lorries - that ended up at an angle on the motorway embankment.
They also stemmed the flow of oil and decanted the contents of the drums safely from the lorry.
Crews left at 9.30pm after making both lorries safe.
The Highways Agency then took over for the carriageway clean-up.
