Police seeking pair whose Renault rammed police car in Bromsgrove

TWO MEN are being sought by police after the Renault Clio they were in rammed a police car near Bromsgrove town centre.

The incident happened at around 9.20pm on Monday (March 11) while officers were trying to stop the blue vehicle on Stratford Road near the junction with Stratford Gardens.

The driver purposely collided with the patrol car causing significant damage before driving off.

One of the officers also suffered whiplash during the incident.

A short time later a member of the public alerted police to the vehicle after it had been abandoned behind the Golden Cross Hotel on High Street.

Two white men in their late teens or early 20s were spotted fleeing the car with a Staffie-type dog.

One of the men was of medium build, had short blond or fair hair and was wearing a light coloured top. Thehe other had short dark hair and was wearing a dark coloured top. They also had a dog with them.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the crash or spotted the men after they abandoned the car to call Sgt Bjorn Havinga at Bromsgrove Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
