WORCESTERSHIRE’S Highways chief is aiming for the top of the charts as well as tackling the pothole problem plaguing the county’s roads.

Jon Fraser has donned a tuxedo for his take on the Frank Sinatra’s show-stopping classic ‘My Way’ in a video which can be viewed on YouTube.

Supported by his pothole repair gang ‘backing group’, the crooner belts out ‘At Work in Highways’ to show what happens once a resident reports a pothole problem in their area.

The authority’s highways team has certainly travelled each and every highway this winter with 5,000 potholes already repaired following the freezing conditions.

But with 800 miles of roads across the county, the authority needs to plan each charted course, each careful step along the byway to keep Worcestershire motorists moving.

‘At Work in Highways’ took around half a day to film and a further day for editing and the £800 cost was funded by highways contractor Ringway.

Visit www.youtube.com and search for either ‘Worcestershire County Council’, ‘Worcestershire Council’, ‘At Work in Highways’ or ‘Jon Fraser’ to view it.

To report a pothole, use the county council’s mobile phone app, visit www.worcestershire.gov.uk/reportit or call 0845 607 2005.
