Man suffers broken nose in Rednal robbery

A MAN has suffered a badly broken nose after two people robbed and beat him.

The incident happened in Rednal near Howdens Joinery around 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday March 13).

Two men got out of a silver Mercedes panel van and pushed the 41-year-old victim to the floor after he had just got off a bus on Parsonage Drive.

They hit him on the ground stole his mobile phone, wallet and bus pass, before getting back in the van which was driven by third man and fleeing the scene.

All three were white and in their 20s with one wearing black jeans and a cream jacket.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham to be treated for a broken nose.

One man was arrested in Leicester this morning (Thursday) and is being questioned by officers on behalf of West Mercia Police.

Det con Mark Lazenby of West Mercia Police described it as a 'serious' incident causing 'serious' injuries.
