Man found in burning car in Bromsgrove pronounced dead at scene

THE BODY of a man was been found in a burning car in Bromsgrove late last night.

The fire service received the first call at 11.10pm to reports of a blue Toyota Avensis on fire on Birmingham Road, Marlbrook.

The police and ambulance service were also called.

One fire crew from Bromsgrove and another from Redditch was sent to the incident.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and helped gain access to the vehicle and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We are now working with the police in a bid to ascertain exactly what happened."

Officers from Bromsgrove Police, who are investigating the incident, have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call them on 101.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the incident, but were stood down when the man was pronounced dead.
