Hi: 20° Lo:8° 7 day

YOUNG bookworms from across the county will soon be able to pick up one of the new children's library cards.
They are being launched on Thursday (March 7) to coincide with World Book Day and feature designs by Liz Pichon, the author of the popular Tom Gates book series. The cards will include pictures of characters from her books.
Ruth Foster, Worcestershire County Council's literacy and reading manager, said: "We are delighted to be launching a library card specifically for children and are very lucky to have such a popular children's author design the card for us.
"Liz has created a fantastic illustration for the card and being able to launch the card when the whole county is celebrating their love for books will make the World Book Day extra special this year."
Liz has also produced a video clip which will be screened during the World Book Day events and is also available to view online at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/librariesandlearning.
