THE LAST of the semi-final acts for Search For a Star 2013 were decided at the Austin Social Club in Longbridge last night (Saturday).
The final heat saw singer and guitarist Esther Turner, duo 2D and soloist Laura Jayne go through to the penultimate rounds of the competition, which take place on Saturday (March 9), next Saturday (March 16) and March 23.
Esther, who impressed both the audience and the judges, said it came as a bit of a shock.
"I wasn't expecting to go through, but now, I'm already thinking about which songs to do in the semi-final."
2D is made up of Darren Yardley and Darren Williamson.
Darren Yardley said: "We were quite shocked because there were a lot of good acts."
"It's going to be a tough semi-final."
The final will take place at the Austin Social Club on April 6.
