Hi: 15° Lo:5° 7 day

RESIDENTS, community groups, shops and businesses who want to be involved with this year’s Bromsgrove Carnival are being urged to get in touch with the organisers.
And those behind the event will be hoping for better weather this year when the three days of free entertainment take place on June 28, 29 and 30.
Once again, on the Saturday (June 29), there will be a trolley procession journeying from Artrix to Sanders Park, where there will be the carnival arena.
That will feature live music, charity stalls, trade stalls, a funfair, car displays, dog shows, dancing and sports events.
The park will also play host to the start of the Timberhonger 10K charity run on the Saturday evening and the shorter Children’s Challenge for youngsters.
The organisers are also hoping to put on a gig on Friday night in Sanders Park, as well as further entertainment on the Sunday, truly making it a three-day event.
Shaun Richards, who is in charge of the Bromsgrove Carnival website, said: “Even so far in advance, our hits are already starting to creep up and people have been chasing us for confirmation of the date.
“We hope the last weekend of June suits everyone and they can all join in to make a great family event.”
Last year’s event raised £1,000 for the Princess of Wales Community Hospital League of Friends.
