FIREFIGHTERS from four different stations have been battling a blaze this morning (Wednesday) at a flat just outside Bromsgrove town centre.

The fire broke out at around 3.30am on the second floor of the three-storey building on Worcester Road, near to the Turk's Head pub.

Two crews from Bromsgrove, two from Droitwich, one from Kidderminster and one from Redditch attended the scene and a hydraulic platform from Worcester Fire Station was also used.

Eight firefighters wearing breathing aparatus went into the property but, luckily, no one was in there at the time.

At the moment, it is unknown how the blaze started, but fire investigators and the police are working on the scene in a bid to establish exactly what happened.
