THE DRIVERS of a lorry and a car had a lucky escape after a crash in Bromsgrove this afternoon (Monday) which also saw a lamppost struck.

The incident happened at around 3pm on Stoke Road, near the town's Morrisons and Aldi supermarkets.

A witness who contacted The Standard reported seeing a car which had left the road and gone onto an embankment.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue spokesperson said a crew from Bromsgrove attended and was currently making the vehicles safe.

The police and ambulance services attended but, luckily, both the drivers were unhurt.
