OFFICERS investigating the deaths of two people in Frankley have named the pair as 34-year-old Suzanne Van Hagen and John Worton, 37.
The two bodies, at the home in Miranda Close, were found by Ms Van Hagen's nine-year-old daughter.
She was discovered on a mattress in a bedroom and her partner, Mr Worton, was found downstairs.
After being unable to wake the pair, the girl called for the ambulance service and paramedics contacted the police just before 10am this morning (Friday).
The couple were pronounced dead at the scene and officers are currently treating their deaths as unexplained.
Det Ch Insp Wayne Jones, from West Midlands Police CID, said officers are supporting the next of kin at this time.
"There is no obvious sign of major trauma and we await the outcome of the post mortem to determine the cause of death," he added.
Forensics experts are currently examining the scene for evidence and post mortem examinations are scheduled to take place at 9am tomorrow morning (Saturday), which, it is hoped, will shed light on the cause of their deaths.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 .
