Four arrested after early hours burglary attempt in Rubery

FOUR people have been arrested in connection with a nighttime burglary in Rubery.

The occupants of the home in Monument Lane, were woken by noises in the early of hours of Wednesday morning (February 6).

They immediately called Police who believe the thieves fled without managing to steal anything.

A man was arrested in Monument Lane, another man and two youths were arrested in Barnt Green a short time later.

All four have been released on police bail while further inquiries are been made.

Det Sgt Ed Slough of West Mercia Police said additional officers had been assigned to the area after a recent increase in crime.

"The police presence in this area was increased as a result of burglaries and vehicle crime, and following the report of the burglary in Monument Lane, there were four speedy arrests." he added.
