Hi: 17° Lo:3° 7 day

A CAR-KEY burglary, two attempted burglaries, thefts from vehicles and the theft of a bike were all carried out during a crime spree in Rubery on Monday morning (February 4).
The incidents happened between 3am and 4.45am on the Waseley housing estate and it is thought five youths, including two girls - in their mid to late teens - were involved in the incidents.
A house in Leasowe Road was targeted by the raiders who took the keys to a silver Ford Ka, registration DK52 FGA, before stealing that from the driveway. They also took a mobile phone and laptop.
A householder in Cleves Road then disturbed someone trying to break into their home - one of two unsuccessful burglaries to take place in the early hours.
A motorbike taken from Segbourne Close was abandoned nearby and sat navs were stolen from two vehicles in Waseley Road and Clent Road, before an attempt was made to steal from a car in Callowbrook Lane.
Det Con Cheryl Jones of Bromsgrove CID said: "It appears the thieves have been wandering around on foot trying the door handles of cars and houses and looking for insecure windows and other points of entry.
"A group of youths were seen during a couple of the incidents that were reported to us and we would be interested to hear if anyone else saw them or can help us with descriptions."
House-to-house enquiries have been carried out and residents living in the area who have seen anything suspicious have been urged to contact the police.
Witnesses or anyone with any information should call Det Con Jones at Bromsgrove CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
