New scheme at TRUNK to help jobseekers

BROMSGROVE residents looking for employment will now be able to get help from The TRUNK in Charford, which is hosting the National Careers Service.

As part of the free service, a professionally qualified careers advisor is available to assist people with a range of job-hunting aspects.

These include locating learning and training courses, improving reading, writing, maths and IT skills, finding out about funding, developing CVs, improving interview and presentation skills and help with looking for jobs or careers ideas.

The service can also signpost people to other local organisations to help them move forward.

At The TRUNK, there is a dedicated room to help job seekers find work - that includes computer access for employment searching and CV writing. There is also a board featuring current vacancies, sample CVs and agency information and free telephone access to help people follow up jobs and conduct interviews.

For more, or to book an appointment, call 01527 878722 or drop in to The TRUNK, 21 Humphrey Avenue.

For more on the National Careers Service, visit www.direct.gov.uk/nationalcareersservice or call 0800 100 900.
