TIPPLES from Bromsgrove’s Birds Brewery will be among the 34 beers at this year’s Redditch Winter Ales Festival, which takes place at Rocklands Social Club this weekend.

Bronze Age and Chestwarmer will be joined by ales from Halesowen, Studley and further afield at the event which runs from 4pm to 11pm today (Friday) and between 11am and 11pm tomorrow (Saturday).

There will also be a selection of ciders and perries, along with food and entertainment, at the festival, which has been organised by the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Redditch and Bromsgrove CAMRA chairman Paul Richards said: "Real ale is becoming increasingly popular, and the nation now has over 1,000 breweries.

"Our festival is a great opportunity to try traditional beers and ciders that you wouldn’t normally find in the pub. "

The chosen charity for the festival is the Alzheimer’s Society.

Admission is £4 (with discounts for card-carrying CAMRA members and Rocklands Club members).

That includes a commemorative glass and programme.
