Hi: 10° Lo:2° 7 day

ROADWORKS lasting five days will start on Monday (February 4) on the Stratford Road crossroads in Bromsgrove, near the former Parkside School building.
The latest development of the Bromsgrove Regeneration Project will see the pelican crossing and the crossroad traffic lights synchronised in a bid to improve the town centre traffic flow.
Bromsgrove District Council leader Roger Hollingworth said: “While there will be a couple of days disruption to drivers, the eventual benefits from the improved flow of traffic will be worth it so please bear with us.”
The Town Centre Regeneration led by a partnership including the district council, the county council and the police, will also see the development of former Parkside School building into a library and hub and the new blue light centre, housing the police and fire station, on the former NEW college site.
A five screen cinema and retail complex is also set to be built in the south of the town, on the former Market Hall site and £1.2million worth of Heritage Lottery funding is also going to restore the town’s historic building among other works.
Worcestershire County Councillor Anthony Blagg said: “While this is a small part of a massive project, it is an important stepping stone en route to creating a better Bromsgrove for everyone.”
