THE OWNER of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier has spoken of his shock after his pet was attacked by another dog whilst being walked in Bromsgrove.
Paul Cutler, from Stoke Heath, said he was even more disgusted that the owner of the other dog - a sandy coloured Bull Mastiff with a pink studded collar called Milly - walked off without even apologising, adding that the man had two dogs and neither were on a lead.
He has contacted the police about the incident, which happened between 5.30pm and 5.45pm on Saturday (January 19), when his two daughters - aged seven and 13 - and another seven-year-old friend were walking Heidi near Granary Road and the field off Tollhouse Road.
Mr Cutler said the attack left Heidi with puncture wounds in her neck which needed veterinary treatment.
He said it was also a traumatic experience for the children, especially the older one who was dragged down a bank during the attack.
Mr Cutler added he had put up a reward for the whereabouts of the Bull Mastiff’s owner.
“The owner of the dogs didn’t have the decency to apologise or even approach the parents of the children and the dog.
“Instead, he cowardly walked away and disappeared.”
He added he had been left with a vet bill of more than £200, which he felt the owner of the other dog should pay.
A Bromsgrove Police spokesperson said it was a scary incident for the children and appealed for the owner or anyone with any information on the incident to call 101.
