THIS is the man police suspect of trying to sell a stolen drill to a second hand store which was taken during a burglary.

Staff at a High Street store in Northfield refused to buy the Makita power drill in a large worn metal case from the man earlier this month (January) because they felt he was behaving oddly.

He asked how much he could get for the item, which was identical to one stolen during a burglary in the area in December 20.

The home in the Oaklands was burgled when house keys and car keys were fished through the letterbox.

A silver Peugeot 307 with the registration GJ57 LNF was stolen and several tools including the drill were lifted from the garage attached to the home.

The car and tools are yet to be recovered.

Det Con Deborah Simmonds said: "We've worked really hard to drive burglary rates down in south Birmingham over the past few months and we want to keep it that way.

"That's why we want to speak to the man in these CCTV images as we believe he may be able to help us solve this crime and return the victim's property."

Anyone who recognises the man or has information on the incidents should call Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
