A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of interfering with a vehicle after officers followed his footprints in the snow.

Reports were made to police about a man going door-to-door on Waseley Road, Rubery, at around 4.30am this morning (Friday).

He was spotted trying to get into porches and attempting to open car doors.

Police followed his tracks in the snow and arrested a man in his 20s around an hour later.

They seized two sets of vehicle keys from him which are believed to have be stolen.

The man was taken to Redditch Police Station where he is currently answering questions.

An appeal for more information has been made to residents in the area who might have seen anything or had items stolen throughout the night.

PC John Coleman said: "As part of our investigation we are trying to establish if anything has been stolen from vehicles in that area overnight.

"I would urge anyone who has found their vehicle has been entered and property stolen to let us know as soon as possible."

Anyone with any information should contact PC Coleman on 101 using incident reference 48-S-180113.
