Sporting are frustrated again

BROMSGROVE Sporting suffered a second successive postponement on Saturday when their trip to Studley's Beehive for a Midland Combination Premier Division contest with Earlswood fell victim to a waterlogged pitch.

Despite their lack of action, Sporting remain third in the table due to the teams around them also failing to see action or dropping points.

With the side lacking match action, a friendly has been arranged for Wednesday night against Division One local rivals Fairfield Villa at the Victoria Ground whilst they will try again to return to league action with a trip to Brocton on Saturday (3pm).

The Reserves continued their amazing winning sequence as they overcame Coton Green 5-0 for a 12th success in a row. During that run they have scored 55 times, conceding just ten.

Next up though is a tough contest in the Worcestershire Junior Cup against Droitwich Spa which takes place at the Victoria Ground on Saturday (1.45pm).

Sporting play host to a charity match on Sunday when Bromsgrove Rovers Old Boys tackle Aston Villa All Stars in aid of Cancer Research (2pm). Admission is £5 for adults whilst youngsters will be admitted free of charge.

Sporting physio Inka Polec and Karen Sloane have organised a disco and charity auction at the Victoria Ground on Saturday night. The event starts at 7pm and costs £6 for adults and £3 for children with profits again going to Cancer Research.

Products on offer include a chance to buy a football player or netball player, name an Eddie Stobart Truck, four-night stay in a villa in Spain, corporate Wembley tickets for an England game, signed football shirts, a number of beauty treatments plus many more.

Tickets can be purchased from Karen or Inka on 07825 318908 or 07837 544356.
