A WOMAN was assaulted in Bromsgrove in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday) after she left nightclub Love2Love.

The incident happened at around 2.30am on a footpath near Bromsgrove School while the woman was walking from Worcester Road to Manor Court Road.

She became separated from her friend and then, when she stopped to make a call on her mobile, was approached by two men wearing dark clothes.

One of them assaulted her, but she screamed and they fled.

One of the men was wearing a dark 'Superdry' jacket.

PC Carita Coldicott said luckily the woman was not hurt and nothing was taken from her, but she was left shaken by her ordeal.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen these males hanging around in the area or knows who they are."

Following the incident, residents have been urged to consider their personal safety when they are out and about in the evenings.

Among the advice is not to drink too much, not to walk home alone and, if they do have to walk, they should keep to main roads and well-lit areas.

Taxis should be booked in advance from a licensed cab company and should be ordered for outside the venue.

Anyone with any information about the assault should call Bromsgrove Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
