BROMSGROVE Swimming Club performed brilliantly at the Stourbridge Crystal Open Meet with seven race victories being recorded as well as every competitor clocking a personal best time.
The victories went to Jennifer Gearey in the ten-year-olds 100m individual medley and 50m backstroke, Ruby Picken in the 12-year-olds 50m butterfly, Hattie Goff in the 50m freestyle and Samantha Gearey in the 14-year-olds 200m individual medley, 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.
The successful swimmers that achieved personal bests were ten-year-old Ryan Lewis in the 50m freestyle, 100m individual medley and 50m breaststroke and Catrin Carter, 11, in the 200m individual medley, 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
Jennifer Gearey also clocked a personal best in the ten-year-olds 50m breaststroke in which she finished second, to go with third place in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. Hattie Goff, 12, came fourth in the 50m backstroke whilst Ruby Picken shone in the 50m freestyle, as did Abigail Saker in the 50m breastroke and Samantha Gearey in the 14-year-olds 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle to help Bromsgrove finish eighth out of 28 visiting clubs.
