ONE of Bromsgrove's independent town centre shops is to close its doors.

Gift shop Shiny, on the High Street, will have its last day next Saturday (January 19) after more than five years in the town.

Owner Simone Maurri has taken the decision because his temporary lease was due to expire and the time had come for him to do something new.

He stressed that the closure was not down to financial reasons.

"I've been thinking about it for about a year now.

"I was asked if I wanted to carry on, but I'm ready to do something else.

"I have got some other ideas and plans in the pipeline, which will also hopefully be in Bromsgrove."

He added it would be great to see as many of his customers as possible on the store's final day.
