AN ENGAGEMENT ring worth £8,000 was among a haul stolen during a burglary in broad daylight in Aston Fields yesterday (January 8).

The incident took place between 8.30am and 12.15pm at the home in St Godwald's Road.

As well as the ring, there was also a gold wedding ring and a host of electronic equipment.

That included a Sony PlayStation and games worth £250, a £400 laptop, a £250 Acer Netbook, a Nintendo Xbox 360 and games worth £250 and a Panasonic digital camera worth £200.

PC Paul Lettis from Bromsgrove Police, who is investigating the incident, said he was hoping, because of the time of day it took place, someone would have seen something.

"We are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing suspicious activity around St Godwald's Road, especially any cars parked in unusual circumstances," he added.

He also appealed for anyone who was offered items, which matched the descriptions of those taken, to get in touch.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on the burglary should call PC Lettis on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
