Hi: 15° Lo:4° 7 day

THERE was triple success for Bromsgrove Bears’ National League teams at the weekend as the u16 girls, women and men all recorded victories.
The u16 girls overcame Bucks Hornets 62-49 with u16 England international Rebecca Taylor leading the team well.
She scored some crucial points in the final quarter to seal the victory whilst Shanice Turner showed great control and Victoria McGachies tremendous energy.
That triumph was followed by the women securing a fantastic 53-51 victory against top of the table Bristol Storm.
Bears came out strongly and led from the first buzzer with Cooper and Hall shooting well whilst Allen was on hand to convert any rebounds.
Yang ran the floor well too, scoring off fast breaks to give three Bears double figures at the end of the game. Cooper with 21 personal points, Allen with 12 and Yang with ten.
Bears went in 25-21 ahead at half time and maintained their lead throughout the second half.
Bristol applied pressure late on to set up a tense finish but two crucial free throws from Allen and Cooper’s three-pointer gave Bears the victory.
The men comfortable overcame College of West Anglia, finishing almost 30 points clear at the end of the fourth quarter.
Dominant from the start, Bears led 28-14 at halfway and continued to shine with McLean getting eight rebounds on a night when the home side were without head coach Simon Fisher but Liam Sheridan stepped in as player-coach and did a fine job.
The top three scorers were Bett with 19 points, Hall and Johns with 11 and Bolsher with ten points.
The u15 Boys tackled Derby and ended up falling just seven points short.
Liam Healey top scored with 21 points and coach Liam Sheridan declared himself pleased with the performance and the many positives that came from the game.
