RESIDENTS planning to get fitter in 2013 can take part in a new exercise concept at Chessgrove Day Spa.
Non members, as well as spa members, are welcome to the Funkalates sessions being run by fitness coach Leroy Henry, who was chosen as a London 2012 torch-bearer for making fitness fun and accessible to all.
Among the activities involved in Funkalates are rollerblading, jazz, ballet, free running, Tai Chi and Capoeira martial arts.
The sessions, which are aimed at giving participants better flexibility, an improved toned physique and more confidence, are done to uplifting dance tracks. They are also put together by British Songwriters Guild member Leroy.
Spa manager Richard Macklin said he was delighted to have Leroy join the fitness team.
“His classes bring something new to the area and are great fun.
“It’s the perfect way for people of all fitness levels to establish an exciting wellbeing routine for 2013.”
