A HAND-HELD vacuum cleaner, worth £150, is so far the only item confirmed to be stolen during a Barnt Green burglary.

The Dyson model was taken from the home in Victoria Mew, off Hewell Road, yesterday (Thursday).

The front window was forced open between 3.10pm and 5.20pm, while the owner was out.

Police officers are making door-to-door inquiries trying to see if anyone saw any suspicious activity in the area.

The vacuum cleaner was taken from the kitchen and investigators have carried out forensic examinations to determine if anything else has been stolen.

Det Con Cheryl Jones of Bromsgrove CID said: "Victoria Mews is behind the shops in Barnt Green village and can only be accessed by vehicle or on foot via an archway between the shops.

"If you saw or heard anything suspicious at the time, or which with hindsight you think may be connected with this then please let us know immediately."

Anyone with any information should call Bromsgrove CID on 101.
