BROMSGROVE Sporting bounced back from Saturday’s 3-1 defeat against Lichfield City (turn inside for more details) by winning 4-1 at Malvern Town in the Worcestershire Senior Urn on Tuesday night.

Jon Rogers converted from the penalty spot in the second half to complete his hat-trick whilst Elliot Nash was also on target. Malvern’s consolation came from the penalty spot late in the game.

Whilst Sporting’s first team were playing at Malvern, the u18s took on their opposite numbers in the Worcestershire FA Youth Cup.

They also won, chalking up a 3-0 victory with two goals from Alex Jarrett and one from Dan Tierney. They have now reached the final where they will play either Kidderminster Harriers or Dudley Town on a date yet to be decided.

The Reserves kept up their winning run on Saturday with an 11-0 victory over Droitwich Spa Reserves in the Midland Combination Urn.

Joe Brookes scored five, including two penalties, Ryan Molesworth scored a hat-trick, Grant Baker got two and Jack Lodge also netted.

Tomorrow sees the first team play Lichfield City again, travelling to Staffordshire for a league clash, whilst the Reserves entertain Brocton (2pm).
