Hi: 16° Lo:4° 7 day

A COUPLE were threatened in their own home on Tuesday (November 27) by three men who were burgling the property in what police described as a 'nasty' incident.
The burglars, all with covered faces, invaded the bedroom where the victims, in their 30s, were watching TV, and forced them to hand over a large amount of cash.
Police believe the men crossed nearby fields to get to the house in Forest Lane, Hanbury, where they got in through the back of the house.
They made there escape towards Broad Acre Fishery where it is suspected they drove off in a waiting vehicle.
Det Sgt Pete Sherwood said: "This was a nasty and brazen attack on someone's home and we have launched an investigation into who is responsible."
"Considering how wet it has been of late and that these men approached and left the house over fields, it is very likely they would have been covered in mud."
He appealed for any witnesses or anyone with any information, particularly people seeing suspicious activity or vehicles in Hanbury between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday to contact him on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
