Man in court over stabbing in Trescott Road, Northfield

A MAN will appear in court today (Tuesday) accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Northfield on Sunday (November 25).

The 49-year-old, being held by police on suspicion of trying to kill his former partner with a knife, will go before Birmingham magistrates.

The incident took place at around 1.30pm in Trescott Road.

The man was arrested in Lye Avenue, Bartley Green, later on Sunday and was charged this morning (Tuesday) with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

The 33-year-old woman remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
