A NUMBER of roads in North Worcestershire and South Birmingham have been closed because of heavy rain.
They include the A448 Kidderminster Road in Bromsgrove, from Mustow Green to the Perryfields crossroads and the A450 in the district - from the A448 Mustow Green to Hackman's Gate crossroads.
Other roads affected include Yew Tree Lane, Frankley, Peterbrook Road, Wythall and Icknield Street in Alvechurch, at the junction of Primrose Hill.
The news comes after drivers were warned to stay safe on the roads as the heavy rain continued to fall.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has issued a reminder to residents they should not drive through flood water. As well as the risk of damage to the car, there may be hazards under the water motorists are unable to see.
Homeowners whose properties are at risk of flooding should also monitor the weather situation closely.
Station commander Alan Haley said: "We are urging all motorists to exercise caution if they find themselves driving through flood water.
"Please use common sense and follow our simple advice. Stay alert to local weather and news reports and if the area is experiencing flooding it's advisable to leave any non-essential travel until any flooding has subsided."
