AROUND 150 festive shoeboxes from Bromsgrove, Rubery, Redditch and Studley will be sent out to UK servicemen and women based in Afghanistan and other areas to help give them a better Christmas.
The collection comes after we at The Standard teamed up with Support Our Soldiers (SOS) for the annual seasonal campaign.
Rebecca Hancox, the SOS co-ordinator for Bromsgrove and Redditch, said: “Thank you to all those who have given boxes - they will be much appreciated by the troops.
“They will be a great boost to morale for those serving at a time of year when they miss their family and friends more than ever.”
Anyone with seasonal shoeboxes, which still need collecting, or for more on the campaign, call Rebecca on 07884 184982.
