Hi: 9° Lo:4° 7 day

AS THE summer season draws to a close, Bromsgrove Ladies Tennis teams are celebrating plenty of promotion success.
Four of the five ladies teams have finished in the top two positions in their divisions and gained elevation next season.
The ladies A team, captained by Tina Manning, finished runners-up in Division One, having won all their games. Promotion was not possible here as they are already in the top division!
The ladies B team, captained by Mary Leavesley, topped Division Four East with a substantial lead over the team which came second and so will be promoted to Division Three East.
The C team topped Division Six East and captain Ros Cooke attributed their success to finding the right balance between experienced players and promising juniors. The ladies in this team are aged between 11 and mid 60’s.
The E team, playing in only their second summer season, came second in Division Eight East.
Captain Anne Simper praised the enthusiasm and dedication of all the team members, which undoubtedly resulted in their well-deserved success.
The teams are now looking forward to the winter season which is played on Sunday afternoons and starts at the beginning of October.
