A WOMAN needed treating by paramedics after being hit in the head by a stone which was thrown at her during a night out in Bromsgrove town centre.

The incident, involving the woman in her 20s, took place in the High Street, near HSBC, at around 10.10pm on October 20.

The stone was thrown from a nearby rooftop and led to the victim sustaining a cut that bled profusely.

She was treated by ambulance staff, but did not need to go to hospital.

Police officers investigating the incident said it was being treated as 'malicious wounding'

PC Penny Davies, of West Mercia Police, appealed for any witnesses, anyone with any information or anyone who saw people throwing stones in the town centre to call her on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

"Although this lady was only slightly hurt, the paramedics did say that it had taken a considerable blow to break the skin.

"Luckily she was able to carry on with her evening out, but it could have been very serious indeed," she added.
