Catshill residents urged to attend library feedback event

CATSHILL residents who participated in the 12-week consultation about the future of the village's library services are being urged to attend a feedback event on Wedensday (October 3).

More than 130 responses were received and the feedback, which has been assessed by Worcestershire County Council officers, will be relayed to those who go along to the get together at 7pm at Catshill Middle School.

Residents were asked about the proposals to close the current Catshill Library, which is the most underused one in the county, and replace it with volunteer-led services based at the middle school.

Coun John Campion, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member responsible for the Libraries and Learning Service, said: "One of the frustrations people have with consultations is they never get any feedback.

"We are grateful to all those who took part and it is really important we share that feedback and bring people up to speed with the next steps."

The county council's Libraries and Learning Service, which runs Catshill Library, has to save around 28 per cent of its budget over the next few years as part of the wider BOLD (Better Outcomes, Lean Delivery) programme.
