BROMSGROVE National Childbirth Trust’s (NCT) Bumps and Babies Group, which was officially launched last September, is celebrating its first year with a special party a week on Monday (September 10).

The event will be held at the Guide Hut, Kidderminster Road, at 1.30pm and will feature singing, drinks, nibbles and a birthday cake. There will also be bra-fitting and real nappies themes on the day.

Throughout the last 12 months, as well as activities for youngsters, the group has invited a variety of local baby and child businesses and organisations to come and showcase what they do.

They include Real Nappiness, bra-fitting, slings, babyswim, Sign and Rhyme, Cheerful Cherubs, Waterbabies and photography firms.

There have also been a range of discussions on different issues, including weaning, expressing, hypnobirthing, water births and home births, parental and maternity rights, sleeping and dental health.

And, as the group gets ready to start up again, there is a packed schedule planned, including a discussion on bedtime routines on September 17, Babyswim on September 23 and Tumbletots on October 1.

The group meets every Monday at the Guide Hut, Kidderminster Road, at 1.30pm.

Bumps and Babies operates as a charity - the sessions are free, but donations are welcome.
