MORE than 400 cannabis plants have been seized from a house in Marlbrook after police officers swooped on the property yesterday morning (Sunday).

The plants, along with equipment used for cultivating the drug, were found in an upstairs bedroom at the home in Birmingham Road.

As the police arrived, one man ran from the back of the house, vaulted the garden fence and was last seen running towards Catkin Close and Oak Apple Road.

Another man was arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug, namely cannabis. He has been released on police bail until November 11, pending further inquiries.

PC Dave Alsop, from Bromsgrove Police, appealed for anyone who saw the man running from the property, early on Sunday morning, to call him on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

He also urged anyone who noticed any suspicious activity at the property to get in touch.
